The Louisiana Aging Brain Study (LABrainS) is a longitudinal study of brain aging at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center (PBRC) at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The study has had over 4,000 participants enroll and participate in annual in-clinic visits for the longitudinal study of brain aging and mobility.  As part of continuing the LABrainS effort during Covid-19 and to extend the reach of the study beyond in-clinic visits, a web-based version of the assessments (web-LABrainS) was created and launched in 2021.  The PBRC web-LABrainS effort is composed of validated cognition, mood, mobility and quality of life assessments from the KLHF platform.  Web-LABrainS is self-guided and automated for obtaining informed consent, HIPPA authorization and assessments, and can deliver to each participant an automated summary of the assessment results.

To learn more about the web-LABrainS effort and how the KLHF can be used for longitudinal studies, please contact us.
